I’ve been busy finishing up some side projects, so I didn’t get a chance to log in to ole DG for a day or two..
Then Amir Lachman dropped me a friendly email …
Dear domainersgazette.com website owner,
I noticed that the domainersgazette.com website has been down for the
last few days. I really like your site and was wondering when will it
be
up again.Regards,
Amir Lachman
“He must be confused..” I initially thought..
**Attempt to visit site** …dead…
homepage is blank, and message mentions something along the lines that “wpc7c16b8466d864eeefd20050625c7775” can’t be found..
wonderful.. domaining’s my specialty, tech aspect ain’t..time to roll up my sleeves..
I stay until 2am last night attempting to research and fix.. no luck..
wake up this morning, start again..
uncover a few articles, signs are pointing towards a possible hack, exploiting a plug-in, theme, or Wordpress version I’m using..
stumble across this post on Wordpress regarding the issue..
which leads me to Noah’s perfectly wonderful life saving post, where he instructs how to remove all the malicious code..
appears it was some sort of spam injection attempt into my footer..
two file updates later, and I’m back live..
phew..
now I gotta make sure it doesn’t happen again..
***UPDATE: additional kudos and thanks to Jeff and WordpressMax for providing detailed, step-by-step instructions on how to upgrade to Wordpress version 2.3.2…

Sorry to hear about the hacking - that sucks.
Just before we updated our blog we got some iframe injected into our header, but thankfully I caught it. Good to see you back.
Peter, glad your blog is back and always glad to help out a fellow blogger.
