I’m an odd breed of domainer, and it occured to me today what type of breed I am …

we’ve already gone over types of domainers, but breed is a little different..

I don’t spend much of any time chasing dictionary, 2 letter, 3 letter, etc. domains. Too expensive. And there’s no reason to chase after trademarked terms, as you’d obviously be waiting for a lawsuit to occur (it’s fun to research the arena though - to see how black hat some folks get).

Like I’ve said before, I chase domains for their traffic, and to do this effectively, it’s wise to have some exposure to the seo game.

I’m basically a domainer with a slight seo slant.. an SEOmainer you could say..

The SEOmainer’s Gazette? nah..

I love the fact that someone has already registered the domain. Domainers are always quick to pick up on possible trends. Here’s a great example.

BTW, great post. I think that I fall into the same boat. I think more and more domainers are hybrids. Especially the new comers because they’ve possibly been exposed to many different methods and ideas in the web master world. I myself fall under the same category.

Me too. Same category. That’s why I looked for the name. I think we need to be hybrids otherwise we wouldn’t have what to register because most generics are gone ( to Marchex and Frank :) )

But now I’m glad that someone registered it before me (it was kinda brandable not quite a keyword name). So I just looked for the keyword name and it was free. And now I’m the owner of SEODomainer.com which I like a lot. Thanks Peter.

Also found a good article here if you would like to read http://www.domainblog.com.au/seo/bridging-the-gap-between-seo-domainer.html
